Our City's Main Attractions

This area is so fun to live in, because not only are the people extremely nice, but this city of Philadelphia has incredible historic significance. Our city is also very fun  because there are a lot of parks, fountains, stores, and our city holds the first zoo built in the United States. More specifically, in our suburbs of Philadelphia, there are parks, malls, swimming pools, and movie theaters. These are all very popular to our generation here in Philadelphia.

This is a picture of Independence Hall, in Philadelphia. This is a very important place in our country, because it was the place where our Declaration of Independence from Britain was signed. Many tourists come to see this building. Also, part of the movie, National Treasure,  was filmed here.

This is Citizens Bank Park. It is where the Philadelphia Phillies play their baseball games. Our city loves the Phillies. The Phillies won the World Series in 2008!

Eastern State Penitentiary is a former prison in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was home to notorious criminals such as Al Capone and Willie Sutton. Now, it is an attraction site where you can learn about the history and during fall, it is open as a HAUNTED attraction.

This is the house of Betsy Ross. She was the woman who made the first American flag. It's the same design although we now have 50 stars on it that represent the 50 states. It is the birth place of the American flag.

This is Geno's Steaks. This is a famous shop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that sells Philly Cheesesteak. That is one thing that our city is famous for.

This is the Philadelphia Art Museum. Not only is this museum famous for being the largest in the United States (about 227,000 works), it is very well-known for its appearance in the famous movie series, the Rocky movies. In the movies, the main character, Rocky, runs up the steps of the museum while the song, "Gonna Fly Now" is playing. These steps have even been nicknamed "Rocky Steps" because of this movie.

Where do you go in your area?

  1. You live in a very beautiful town, full of history. In my city there are a couple of museums, a few parks, a mall, many old churches, a big indoor swimming pool. There is also an small island where people go for barbecues.
